Konica I - sell? Not...

Post by scott »

Hi all -

As part of my struggle to fund the last bit of the mandolin I want, I decided to list the Konica I rangefinder I fixed up years ago:

Image

Been up for a few days. No bites. Drat.

Then I starts in to looking at it more. Always dangerous. Everything works perfectly. Only flaw is a chip in the front covering. Just looked, and when I ordered new coverings from Hugo Studio a number of years ago (the camera came without back coverings) I got the front piece as well, just never installed it. Done. Also started in to looking at some of the pictures I've gotten with this little rangefinder:

That's it. I'm sold. Withdrawing the ad. I'mma keep this one. Have it loaded up with TMAX 400 right now - taking it for some walks around town this weekend (splitting time with some as-yet undecided TLR). The mandolin, unfortunately, will have to wait a little longer.

Thanks for looking, there will be more to come soon, hopefully.

Scott

I think the Konica I flies under the radar quite a bit. It's a very simple camera that has a very sharp lens.

It's easy to handle. Advancing to the next frame doesn't feel precise, but I never encountered any problems with overlapping frames. It doesn't shout, "Look at me!"

It's just a good old school camera.

NICE! I have only heard of them but never handled one of these
I rememeber the Hexanon lenses in a Leica mount RF (late 90s) that were top notch
If you can't fix it with a hammer... you got an electrical problem
even duct tape can't fix stupid.... but it can muffle it (SilentObserver)

A good old school camera - that is a good definition. Glad that you kept it!

This is an inspiration. I have a Konica III that needs to be exercised.
