Battery corrosion repaired (video)

Post by melek »

So I came across the camera over the summer, and it had some battery corrosion. I didn't think that it could be saved, but I had read that an ultrasonic cleaner could undo some of the damage.

I was surprised by how well it worked.

Hi Mike,

I'm a little horrified to see how you clean the camera in tap water but my question is what ultrasonic cleaner have you used?
:)

Nice cleaning, a bit scary with the water bath part. Hope you did not get water inside the Solinar groups!

I did not know that little Agfa. Is it larger than an XA? Should be useful as a pocket camera, wonderful for travel.

Thanks for this one!
The SP is my safety-blanket camera, my dad bought it in 73 and I have 4 or 5 now with many lenses.

The 50/1.4 is amazing and can be deyellowed with a bright light (LED) instead of the sun to avoid the grease going everywhere

If you can't fix it with a hammer... you got an electrical problem
even duct tape can't fix stupid.... but it can muffle it (SilentObserver)
