Photoshop: A little knowledge can be a bad thing

Post by melek »

Amateur Photographer has a short piece on "Photoshop disasters."

It's not a horrible click-through slideshow, so it's easy to read. Sort of funny that at this stage, so many companies (and governments) do so many dumb things.

At the museum where I was the Facilities Director for a while, we had a volunteer taking photos to put on the Web site. This person was not a very competent photographer to start with, but when she got into Photoshop, that's where she really shined. One photo that she took of an automobile needed to have the distracting background removed, so out came the cloning tool. By the time she was done, there was a little bit of car, and a whole lot of what looked like corduroy.

In the words of Larry Dressler. "Sigh"
If we all saw the world the same no one would need a camera.
