Kodak Pony II

This camera came to the top of the heap today and it feels neglected so I felt like I might let it out into the sun,' if it don't rain that is'.
All it has on it for setting shutter is EV # from 10 to 15.
The chart on it's back is for Kodachrome Day Type Film. I have no idea what the ASA is for that film.
The slowest that I have is ASA 200. So any suggestions on what EV # I should use?

Most Ponys that had standard marked speeds & apertures had 1/25th to 1/200th and around f/4 - f/16.

F/1.4 at 1 second is EV1, f/2 at 1 second is EV2 and so on. So EV10 - EV 15 should approximately correspond to between f/4 at 1/50th to f/11 at 1/200th.

See if one of your hand-held light meters also has the EV scale, Ron. Barring that, you can use the Sunny-16 rule. The camera has one shutter speed of 1/60. Apertures are EV10=f4, EV11=f5.6, EV12=f8, EV13=f11, EV14=f16, EV15=f22. I think your Kodachrome card is for the 25 ASA version.

200 ISO may be too fast for anything on a bright day, as that's a stop and a half over the single shutter speed. On a cloudy bright day you'd be shooting at EV14, maybe EV15.

I recently used a III. Fun that they put a $100 lens on a 30 cent body.
If we all saw the world the same no one would need a camera.

Pony II was set for ASA 8-12. As what Kodachrome was then.

Right now I have at least a half dozen cameras loaded with film, guess I'll put the Pony back in the barn to rest.
