If you need to unleash a rant or just have something that you want to say, you can post it here. It doesn't have to be about photography.

What camera?

Post by melek »

A news article about Social Security included this photo taken in 1982.

I noticed that there was a guy taking photos (right side), and it made me wonder about the camera, because I always wonder about a camera in a photo.

What do you think? Leica CL?

The man with the camera looks like Howard Baker, without his glasses. He would have been the Senate Majority Leader at that time, so would have fit in with others in the photo. He was an avid photographer. I agree, Leica CL seems most likely - hot shoe in the middle of the top and no rewind knob on the top of the camera.

I was going to go with an MP but after closer observation of the enlargement I could make out a Red Dot. Could be an M6.
