Karat36 goes West

Post by titrisol »

I took the Karat 36 / Heligon to LasVegas and had some time to travel to AZ and the West end of the Grand Canyon
I had a roll of Adox CHS100 and one of SuperPan

Beautiful land. Is that Hoover dam? Did you take the Karat for night shots in Las Vegas?

Did a similar trip some years ago, your pictures bring back memories.

Yes it is, and then we went to the AZ desert and GrndCanyon west.
I was in LasVegas for work, and I didn't have time to do any night photos.

Interesting looking camera and seems capable enough. How's the viewfinder / RF on these?

I've seen these pop up on the local auction site a few times recently, so far I've managed to resist them temptation ;-)

It is a very interesting camera, showing the evolution at the time with self-cocking shutter while maintaining the rim shutter-speed and no clicks in either speeds or diaphragm
The VF/RF is excellent, it is half and half, the top and bottom must match which allows you to play with matching different parts of the frame
