The Minolta HiMatic series is great, and the 7 model of the series is probably the most sought after. That 40/1.7 lens is very good. Excellent results in your outdoor test!
PS, and very off-topic I was traveling with the Leica IIIf (serviced by YYe) and it set off the alarms in those swabbing machines they have to detect "bad stuff" I assume either glycerine or some nitrates? The reason I'm reluctant to send my IIIf off to YYe is all the reports of excessive...
Thanks, Paul. My first compact was a Ricoh 500G. It's still around here somewhere. I need to replace the light seals and had to find a large enough piece to be able to make a custom fit. Just haven't gotten back to completing the job.
Oh, yeah, that's a good one. I took some nice photos with one back when I was in my investigative mode. I think I still have a couple of them around here, and at least one is in black. Yours is working just fine, Paul, and the photos are lovely.
