The Minolta HiMatic series is great, and the 7 model of the series is probably the most sought after. That 40/1.7 lens is very good. Excellent results in your outdoor test!
Thanks, Julio.

Re: Shutter repair gone wrong

PS, and very off-topic I was traveling with the Leica IIIf (serviced by YYe) and it set off the alarms in those swabbing machines they have to detect "bad stuff" I assume either glycerine or some nitrates? The reason I'm reluctant to send my IIIf off to YYe is all the reports of excessive...

Re: Camera Porn Friday

Thanks, Paul. My first compact was a Ricoh 500G. It's still around here somewhere. I need to replace the light seals and had to find a large enough piece to be able to make a custom fit. Just haven't gotten back to completing the job.

Re: Forgotten Canon

Oh, yeah, that's a good one. I took some nice photos with one back when I was in my investigative mode. I think I still have a couple of them around here, and at least one is in black. Yours is working just fine, Paul, and the photos are lovely.

Re: Shutter repair gone wrong

If it still needs some attention and he's still working on them, I can vouch for Youxin Ye up here in Needham (or whichever Boston suburb he's in). He went over my IIIc some years ago and was kind enough to let me watch him do it, as I'd dropped it off in person once I realized he was local. Robert...

Zorki-1e and Industar-22 50/3.5 under test after cleaning

I had cleaned out this lens in early 2020 but didn't get around to testing it until May of 2021. I had confidence in the Zorki-1e and am familiar with what one can achieve with the I-22. I was not disappointed. Well, maybe with the scans, but that's an issue which is quite fixable. Even at that I di...
