It's a good simple design though complicated by the fact they used the same body shell from the older Silette cameras. It's never really cut-and-dry with the German manufacturers when it comes to the internal mechanicals.

That Mercury is an interesting camera. I like the exposure computer in the back. The only problem with it is the older my eyes get, the harder it is to use it. It is however the most accurate Sunny-16 scale metering gauge I've ever seen. Someone should market a copy of it for all of us die-hard old...

As a repairman I have to say this is the most fixed SLR here in Spain, so far 3. Weak point is on plastic lever that should catch the mirror/curtains down.
