Re: Nikon F film cassettes

Yes, I just tried, and sadly it doesn't fit. You know, you can use the Zeiss Ikon cassettes with nearly all Zeiss Ikon cameras with removable backs with keys: all Contax cameras, Super Nettel, Nettax (35mm), Tenax II, early Contaflex, Contaflex TLR and Contarex. I've used these a lot with the Tenax ...

Re: Nikon F film cassettes

I wonder if these are the same ones that were used for the Nikon rangefinders. You know, I have one of these and a Nikon F2A, so I should try and answer my own question.

The one that I have looks like it was based on the Zeiss Ikon film cassette.

My least favorite camera of all time

It's the Voigtlander Prominent, and it's not even close.

The ergonomics of this camera, combined with the weight and the "focus by dial" system make this a real struggle to use.
The Ultron is a really great lens, however.

Re: Agfa Automatic 66, in manual mode

In the product lineup, does the Agfa Automatic 66 sit above the Super Isolette?

I agree that the Solinar really performs well here. I'm looking forward to retirement so I can spend less time doing things that I don't like (Excel, Outlook, etc.) and more things that I do like (photography).

That's good performance from the lens, particularly of the shot of the sailboat.

I've joined the Zorki and Fed families

I recently picked up a Zorki 1 and then a Fed 1 so that I could do some videos on each. The Zorki, once cleaned up a bit, is a surprisingly pleasant little camera. The Fed needs a bit of work (shutter work) and should be fun, too. They both are Leica LTM copies but are a bit cruder in their executio...

Re: Expanding lens options with Retina Reflex, Bessamatic and Paxette SLRs

I've never tried a Braun SLR, although I own a couple of their small Paxette rangefinders (was not impressed).

I knew that the Retina Reflex and Voigtlander Bessamatic lens mounts are really similar, but I never looked beyond that.

Re: Oops...

I have both the Solinar and Apotar versions of this camera. The Apotar is one of the better triplets, and photos taken with it were quite sharp. I think the Solinar is only slightly better, and that's a bit of a jump for me because I really like four-element Tessar-type lenses.

Re: Oops...

I've been wondering if an ultrasonic cleaner would loosen that Agfa grease, but I haven't yet tried it.

That's interesting about not being logged off, because I constantly have to log back in. However, I did have to make a small change on the admin side. It's a real shame, because all of these things generally are because of the need to protect the site from spammer and hackers.
