Small progress, tiny camera

I've shot another test roll in the Minox III, and I think I've worked out what was causing the horizontal scratches. Was it the slitter or was it the 3D printed cartridges, or was it the camera? Having spent a little while with some fine sandpaper, and the scratches becoming "less bad", I'...

I'm staying logged in if I tick the box - Safari on macOS. I leave the site open in a tab.

Re: Getting back to reversing

... Foma 100 has gray background, right? +3 means exposing like ASA 25? or 12? It's a slightly grey background, about the same as FP4 / HP5, but not as clear as Adox HR50 or Rollei Superpan 200. +1 would be EI50, +2 would be EI25, etc. Given the rather extreme scenes - blacks and shiney chrome, I'd...

Getting back to reversing

Spring has arrived in the southern hemisphere. For us in the lower North Island, particularly those in the capital, that means changeable weather with frequent gale force winds. This last weekend was one of those periods - strong gale force nor' westers, horizontal rain and cloud. Being in the hill ...

Yoda and ET caught on film

Some time ago I snagged an almost mint Minox III with and equally mint separate meter, both in cases, for a pretty good price. I didn't buy it so much as to shoot with, more of a curiosity. I previously had a Minox EC when living in Europe, shooting some colour and B&W with it. Film and processi...

Re: Monocacy Creek, 2025

The restored camera's looking good, the shots are looking good, the restored you, well....

I imagine that second shot would be interesting in colour too, though that would undoubtedly come at a cost!

Look forward to seeing some more of your LF shots.

Re: Two steps forwards, one sideways.

I just cropped this. I did shoot it on the iPhone first though using an app called 65x24 to check the composition first. So, shot with the crop in mind.

I'd like to see some shots from your 4x10!

Two steps forwards, one sideways.

Well, this time I managed to remember to take the focussing aid, made easier by the fact that there is a) room in the bag, and b) the focussing screen on the MPP is waaay brighter than the one on the old 9x12cm Zeca. The downside is that the MPP weighs a wee bit more than the Zeca. I headed north fr...

Re: A step forward, a step back.

I scan the 9x12 negs by taping them to a 4x5" sheet of anti-reflective picture framing glass, then drop that, film side down into the Epson V700's 4x5 holder.
