Re: Blast from the past - Exakta VXIIa at the Gold Mines - A NelsonFoto Forums thread

Graham,

I have only held an Exacta twice in my life, and never used one. Judging by your post, they certainly produced quality results. Terrific colors from the old Tessar.

Thanks for re-posting,
Dennis

Graham,

Great photos, thanks for re-posting. Film cameras might not have been as quick and easy as digital, but we certainly didn't miss out on capturing beautiful colors, did we? I really like the first photo shown.

Best,
Dennis

Re: Blast from the past - Olympus OM2n goes to London Town - A NFF Thread

Graham, This is a wonderful post, and I am surprised that I missed it in its NF debut. But the date tells why: August, 2009 was a frenzy of packing out of our home in Virginia in preparation for our move to Arizona. Thanks for re-posting and giving me a second chance. Your images make me want anothe...

Re: Blast from the Past - RICOH 500 - ECHOES OF MY YOUTH - A NFF THREAD

Graham, By golly, has it been that long since I sent the Ricoh 500 over to you? It's good to be reminded of that old camera. It was extremely user-friendly, and gave decent results. I think you squeezed every bit of the performance out of that 45mm/2.8 lens, your B&Ws are great. The image of the...

Re: Blast from the Past - A NFF Thread - District 6, Cape Town.

Graham, Thanks for the re-post of these excellent photos, and for the interesting historical narrative. There is something about B&W images that has an eternal quality: No color fade, no questioning about whether the film had "true" color rendition. Your images are superb. I like them ...

Graham,

It's great to see this excellent post again. Everything I said in 2008 still holds. I will add that I'm amazed how good your night shots turn out.

Re: 2010 Nelsonfoto Post

James,

Great post! Good to see images of that old house again. It was still there in 2013 when I was last on the Northern Neck. We took a lot of interesting photos there.

Re: Blast from the Past - Ashai Pentax Spotmatic SP in the Hertfordshire countryside

Graham, What a great idea going back to the past! Am I wrong, or were people more enthusiastic about interacting on photo sites back then? I remember the great posts on Photo.net (classic camera forum). And that led Craig Nelson to start Nelsonfoto, to attract a more gentile class of photographer th...

Re: Bradford-on-Avon

Graham,
Very inviting shots. At first I thought the various town scenes would have been perfect for B&W, but then I looked at the third and final images and decided that color was a major contributor to interest. Very well done, Sir!
