It must be said that a IIIf with a 35mm Summaron is one of the most beautifull cameras extant.
Maybe with the 2.8 or 1.4, not so much the 3.5. But I'm happy with the 3.5 as far as looks and utility are concerned.

Camera seems to be working fine now!

Have you considered developing film yourself?
I might. Paul, but right now I just don't have the urge because then I'd want to have a darkroom so I could do prints too, and that's just one rabbit hole I don't need to be going down.

Re: Leica IIIf back from DAG overhaul Test Roll

Oh, yeah - these look good (although not the streaks). I just bought another Leica IIIf, too. It should arrive later this week. I need it for a video project. I sold my other Leicas about 10 years ago. Do you like the Summaron or the Elmar. The Elmar looks very sharp. I like both lenses, Mike. I op...

Leica IIIf back from DAG overhaul Test Roll

Earlier this year I sent my second IIIf off to Don Goldberg to have it overhauled. I got it as a replacement for the one that Ulrich Fuchs messed up and seeing as it was not in tip-top shape it was thus less expensive to purchase. Don did a fantastic job, and the camera now works and looks like new....

Re: The Pentax K1000

The K1000 came out too late for me to take an interest as I was already invested in the Nikon system. I had tired of screw mount cameras with a Sears clone of a Ricoh and thought of the Pentax line as being a more expensive version of it. Not that the Nikkormat was cheaper, but I figured it was an e...

Re: Super Wester Rehab Questions...

What Alex is alluding to is that even though the parts may not be an exact match, the basic operations are the same, so the Vero parts and actions will work similar to an NKK shutter even if they don't look the same. You still need a B lever to trip the shutter, and a drive to charge the shutter, an...

Sometimes I wonder if the physical therapists have ever had to do most of the exercises they inflict on their patients. I hope your sessions aren't too long. One thing I started doing here when making a long posting is to copy the text before I hit submit. That way I only need to paste it back in wh...

Re: Yet another folder - a guessing game

Good looking camera with some great results, Paul. Too bad it's missing one of the 645 blinds, though one could always make a replacement seeing as you have an original half to use as a template.
