The four folding Voigtlander Vitos

Post by melek »

In chronological order, from left: Voigtlander Vito, Vito II, Vito III and Vito IIa.

The Vito IIa was released after the Vito III but really is a continuation of the Vito and Vito II. This video was complicated by the Vito III, which is really a folding version of the Voigtlander Promiment - one of my least favorite cameras. The Vito III, on the other hand, is one of my favorite cameras. Go figure.

If you can't fix it with a hammer... you got an electrical problem
even duct tape can't fix stupid.... but it can muffle it (SilentObserver)

This is one of the few photos that I took with the Vito IIa.

Great video! I have two Vito II. One I bought myself, the other came in an exchange with a fellow Nelsonfoto member, years ago. Very smooth handling and easy to use, with the nice Skopar lens giving good results every time.

I used to carry one all the time! A few old pictures from the Vito Ii.

I'm glad to see that there's a lot of love for the Vito II. A buddy of mine had a Vito II, although it was missing the plastic on the door-closing tabs. The first model that I bought was the IIa. The Vito III arrived a few years later. It's an entirely different camera.
