Oh yeah, I remember Dan. He's the one who got me in trouble with every know-it-all because I echoed his use of the word "pallet" instead of escapement.

I'd start with a very slight bend of the tab first to see if that makes an improvement. It won't take much, but since it is what makes contact with the blade release it likely is the location of the trouble.
