Rolleiflex 3.5 Automat on the snow

Post by alexvaras »

Hi all,

Get ready your sunglasses, sun is here and we went to a new park (for you) Kuskovo (I was here 10 years ago).

Rolleiflex is mostly finished, only mode B doesn't work due a broken parts, but now collimation is correct and lens is doing the job fine.

I'm jumping to the 10 years challenge:

I remembered I took a picture of this statue when I did it this morning, here it's 10 years younger.

Thank you for watching and comments/critics are welcome.

Sun is the great illumination in winter. And you've got the Rollie dialed in now, so enjoy it for a long time.

Good use of a nice TLR. How hard is it to use a TLR in the snow and cold, compared with a folder?

Thank you, Julio.
It depends on the brand/model, some folders as Weltur 6x6 are hard to manage with gloves due the size but the 6x9 big brother I had no problem at all.
Same with TLRs, Superb would be very hard to manage, open WLF is impossible with gloves, shutter and dials could be done but no way WLF. On the other side this model of Rolleiflex and I guess ahead is great, gloves on all the time even the speed and aperture dials.
Again choosing gloves is important, I have 3 pairs two leather with merino inside and one thick wool muttons for -15 and bellow.
Rolleiflex could be managed with even muttons if thr dials are smooth otherwise I will spoil the muttons and this apply to leather ones.
After a couple of bad experiences I test the camera choosen the day before with gloves.

Maybe one day in Montevideo you have to make these decisions:)

Thanks Alex for the information. I did not expect such an easy handling of a Rollei with gloves.
