Cameras in movies and TV shows
Re: Cameras in movies and TV shows
An example of realistic use is in Z (Costa-Gavras, 1969), where a PJ trips his Nikon with motor drive with the camera inside his bag and gets forceful evidence. IIRC he is asked about the whirring noises, which he explains as “it is rewinding”.

Nikon F Photomic? See list above.Julio1fer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 9:29 amNikon cameras appear a lot in films.
Another classic is the Exakta in Hitchcock’s Rear Window
Here is a puzzle for camera trivia experts:
As Graham mentioned The French Connection, at the beginning the older French character (Charnier) gets a gift from his girlfriend, a SLR in the presentation box. Do you remember which camera it was?

Graham, my recall is that it was a Pentax or maybe Canon. I have tried to find the film but no luck so far.

It's a Nikon F Photomic body only. Please forgive the poor quality of the image but it's the best I could do at short notice, from Disney+. This is the best view you get! What she did with the body and no lens is anyone's guess.

And then they had to reverse the image when that poster was created, like no one would notice.

Most famous Argus is in a Harry Potter movie IIRC.

Yeah, people were snatching up the MatchMatics like crazy until they found out how difficult they are to use. I had someone make an offer on mine one day when I was out using it on Argust Day, but I turned him down.
