Incredibly enough, I got a Leica IIIF BD last week!
An old man dropped it on my lap the other day, as none of his kids/grandkids would appreciate it!
S/N places it in 1951/2 (leica wiki) and the lens is also from 1951.
RF needed horizontal adjustments, but thanks to Rick Oleson's instructions, that was a breeze

I took to WestChicago this week, and the Elmar 50/3.5 seems plenty sharp
Chicago from the plane - the spots belong to a dirty sensor in the DSLR :(

Nothing wrong with that Elmar, Pablo. Now I'm itching to get my IIIf out again.

Nice combination there, Graham. I think the Canon takes a Ser VI hood.
PF
The Serenar has a 40mm thread. There are not many hoods or filters of that size around. 40.5 yes, 39 yes 43 yes - I will have to improvise.

Can you find a 40-40.5 step-up ring?
Otherwise I can design a shade for you to 3D print

If you can't fix it with a hammer... you got an electrical problem
even duct tape can't fix stupid.... but it can muffle it (SilentObserver)

Ah, yes, I forgot about the 40mm filter size. I do have a stepper ring for mine to 40.5. Brand new too, made by some anonymous company in China and sold by an eBay vendor. Canon made a Series VI holder to fit the 40mm filter ring. It's much harder to find, and usually somewhat expensive.

Yashica FX-3 Super 2000

A simple manual camera made by Kyocera, its main feature being the addition of a 1/2000 sec shutter speed. Mine came with the attached 1.7/50 Planar.

As a repairman I have to say this is the most fixed SLR here in Spain, so far 3. Weak point is on plastic lever that should catch the mirror/curtains down.

On the user side, very easy camera to use and great lenses, Zeiss or Yashica ones.

Congrats, Phil! :)

I actually have two of these as on the first one the Bulb setting doesn't work. I never really trusted them, the FX-2 being a better built body. I got an adapter the other week to be able to use this lens rangefinder coupled on my M4-P.

Continuing on with my birthday week, another photo of my 1953 Leica IIIf RD with Summitar 2/50 and a dead Meter 3.

Wish that I were so fortunate as to own a 3D printer, but thanks for the thought.

I get goose bumps every time I fire the shutter on my loaner IIIf. The weather is not being co-operative, though.
