I just joined this group, & thought that I'd mention the lowly Ciroflex TLR. I've been using 35mm cameras since the mid 1960's, but had always wanted to see what MF was like. Remembering those TLR ads from back in the day, I went to eBay & saw an old Ciroflex TLR that spoke to me. I made a bid & a few days later I was it's proud owner trying t figure out it's idiosyncrasies. After a few rolls of film, Kodak Plus-X if I remember right, I found I enjoyed using it, wondering why I had waited all these years. The square format needs to have it's own composition rules, & lends itself to cropping. I know that others tout their more prestigious TLR's, & for good reason, but I'll always enjoying the company of the lowly Ciroflex TLR.

Those are nice shots - although you'd never get me to sit on a pile of snow in my skivvies.
The people shots have a nice softness to them.
Welcome to the forums, by the way. We love old film cameras!

Welcome to the club. Those are nice. Yes we love old cameras but for some of us that means that the cameras were new when we first got them.
If we all saw the world the same no one would need a camera.
Re: Lowly Ciroflex
And we were also "new" when we bought them. Now, we're both classics.

True Mike. Sad but true.

Great pictures. That lowly Ciroflex is obviously a keeper.

BTW Rich I lived in Apache Junction and worked in Mesa for a few years. Plenty of good things to shoot out there with a lowly TLR or anything else you have. Load up some Ekrar and head out to the Superstitions.

Re: Lowly Ciroflex
Good work with the Ciroflex, Rich. It takes two things to make a good photograph: a good camera, and a good photographer, both of which are in evidence here. Welcome to the forum!
