Thanks for the info, Philip, but I'm having enough bother trying to migrate to another computer with a big leap in OS. The last thing I need is to complicate things by switching languages. Using meters to focus some of my cameras is bad enough.

I know how you feel.
My Flickrs: http://www.flickr.com/flipflik (recent postings), or
- http://www.flickriver.com/photos/flipfl ... teresting/ (Flickr's calculation of my "most interesting" pics);
- http://www.flickr.com/photos/flipflik/s ... 879115542/ (what I like best).

I actually don't mind the new interface.
But as others have said, keep the free account. Plenty of space now. As for the ads? What ads? There's a reason the internet invented the ad-blocker

I'm using ImageShack, which I guess used to be free but is now limited free and premium.
I'm using the lowest-level Business account, which this forum is now using to host photos. I would rate their customer service and ability/desire to respond to emails from paid users at 1/10.
There also is imgur.com, which I checked. It was close but wasn't quite what I needed.
Regarding interfaces, I think that once a site finds a successful model, others jump on board quickly to either mimic the "experience" or to provide an interface that new users will find recognizable.

Ah - I was just thinking yesterday when looking at your Contaflex repair: "I wish that Phil had added some notes like in a repair set I looked at a while back". So that explains it. Oh well.PFMcFarland wrote:My biggest gripe about all the changes at Flickr is they did away with the Notes feature. Not only can you no longer add notes to your photos, but the ones that were there are gone. All that work I did adding connotation to my repair photos is all for naught.<snip>
