127 was a format that if the right cameras would have been made for it I think we would still have. The baby 4x4 TLR cameras were great. I think the problem though was that there were so many bad 127 cameras made it gave the idea that it was a tourist format.


If we all saw the world the same no one would need a camera.

I remember when a Triplet was great and a duplet was good enough. I used to shoot Large Format and well you get the idea.

I have the Bencini Koroll, which takes 120 film, and can be shot either as 6x6, or 4.5x6. Build and specs are much the same as the Comet, with the addition of a little swing-out foot on the front to support the camera when the lens tube is extended.

My first camera was a 127 4x6. It made me look wide in the days of square. ;)
