Camera Porn Friday

Often simply written as "W/NW" - your favorite photos. Explain them, or let your photos (film or digital) speak for themselves.

If it has the Synchro-Compur it must have the M-X switch for flash
Some of those have a V next to M and X and that is the self timer
I guess the number of shutter variations are much larger than reported

Mine is a W serial number and has a Compur-Rapid (1-500) and only X flash sync
What I see now that I look at yours, is that the cable release is in the opposite side (180 degrees).
Mine has it where the MX switch is.
Synchro-Compur M-X are the first version of these shutter, something in between previous Compur Rapid and the next Synchro-Compur which already have V mode that means selftimer inside the shutter.
Ikoflex IIa has this first version of M-X and have no selftimer, Rolleiflex 3.5A has the same shutter and they added the self-timer mechanism next to the viewing lens.

This one is a T serial number. It has the M and X positions but not a V. The cable release in mine is in the same position as in the Contina/Ikonta 35, probably sharing parts.

Here's one I found earlier..... I've had this for a few years, bought off our local Kiwi auction site. When I got it the shutter was a bit erratic, so had the shutter CLA'd by someone that knows what he's doing ;-) The rangefinder patch was very, very faint, so on the couple of occasions I did use it, I just used guess focussing. It ended up on the shelf with the intention that one day I'd pluck up the courage to dig into it.

i'll put up a few pictures in this thread, but maybe do a more detailed write up in its own thread.

One now fully functional Weha Chrome-Six (III), likely dating from around 1941.

Tell us more? Where does it come from? Germany? Looks a lot similar to my Paxina.

Here's the most comprehensive write up: http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Weha_Chrome_Six

It's Japanese. Mine's from 1941 or thereabouts.

That Weha is a weird looking camera. It looks heavy and sturdy though. I wonder how the pictures would look.

I got a “Coffee Can” for repair so I couldn’t resist the photo.
