My grandpa's pictures

Often simply written as "W/NW" - your favorite photos. Explain them, or let your photos (film or digital) speak for themselves.

I think that blue fringes appeared in the high contrast zones when I copied the slides
These were toned by my grandpa and all I did was retouching them and play a bit with contrast

I ended up making a book with the pictures adding some text and the names of people and places I was able to recognize
My cousins and uncles seem to be enjoying it :)

Thank you all for your help, it wouldn;t have been possible without this bunch of geeks

Months have passed, but the fun doesn't end.
Since these were stereo pictures 45x107 format, and I have both sides of most of them I have been stichting a few to get the "full picture" wink wink

In this one I stitched the person in the far right, as it was damaged in the 1st pic I posted

The left side of the picture was stitched and expanded,

As tribute to the 200th anniversary of the end of the Independence Wars in my country (May 24th 1822) I'm placing another picture.
This is a document of the Centennial celebrations, which included the monument to the unknown soldiers pictured here.
A military parade coming down the street (named 24 de Mayo) with the monument in the background and many bystanders perfectly captured.
The monument is the column with the Condor; the column is long gone, and the condor was replaced by a fake one that stands now on a small mound

This was a negative and I have stitched the 2 sides of the stereo glass plate

Wonderful document! Recovering these old images is a labor of love. And a proof that B&W is good for 100 years!

Great job with the photos.

I like to be taught about your country history in such way, reading is one thing, watching how people was doing in that time is much more educational.

Those are great historic documents. Worthy for a book or museum. Good stuff!
