I think that in July, any regular "http://" sites will show that it's not secure. I've begun steps on adding https to the forums.

By the way, for those interested, this site collects very little information.

It's been a while since I went through the registration process, but you need a first and last name, e-mail address and then create a username and password. Plus, you have to answer the spam-blocker question, which has a 100% success rate against spambots but cannot block a human spammer.

Obviously, the site stores your messages and any photos that you upload.

If you cancel your account, I believe that you are given the option of removing all of your messages and any uploaded content. If not, this can be handled on the back end.

Aside from that, Google Ads does its thing like every other site. If you browse a site to look at computer monitors, for example, you can be assured that you'll be seeing computer monitor ads for the next two weeks. This happens to me a lot.
