Lust for a TLR

Post by Bennybee »

After three rather expensive repairs I decided to sell the Rolleiflex 3.5F last year.
However, recently the lust for another TLR surfaced again. This time I went for a Mamiya because these seem to be simpler and perhaps overbuilt compared to the sophisticated but perhaps more fragile mechanics of the Rolleiflex.
I figured that a C33 offered (almost) all the possibilities of the C330 at a somewhat lower price. And I do like the more vintage look of this one. I found the nice one pictured below from a Japanese seller on evilbay. It came without a lens, thus avoiding the fungus and haze which infest almost all lenses from Japan these days. Now the search is on for a 105mm or 80mm Mamiya Sekor lens. Or perhaps a 55mm or 65mm if the price is right. Meanwhile NO photos made with the C33 here for now...

Nice one, Benny. I miss my C330F outfit, but it would be a bit of a project to replicate it today.

I gave mine up because it became too heavy to carry around. It was a great studio camera.
