Watches.

Very nice photo, Graham. I like how you composed choosing the aeronautic book and the precision instrument, both always related to luxury watches.
Interior lighting is the topic pending I have, I would like to learn how to make portraits in interior.
Alex, interior portraits are best done using north window light and a reflector. You should give it a try, I think you will be very good at it.
Noob questions, why north? And reflector you mean a panel which reflects the light coming from the window?

Alex, in the northern hemisphere a north facing window will always give you soft sky-light, consistent throughout the day. A south facing window will generally give direct sunlight on a cloudless day, of a variable nature. Old photographic portrait studios were usually located so that there was a north facing roof light providing the illumination.

Yes, I was thinking so... I have a closed balcony facing north, all windowed the upper part, I did already one portrait there and yes, it's soft the difference between illumined side and the shaded side, let's see how it goes now that light will be lower than usual.
Thank you, Graham :)

In my part of the world that doesn't matter, the declination of the sun is minimal :)
However, that explains a lot since most of the studios had windows facing N or S but rarely E or W
Thanks

If you can't fix it with a hammer... you got an electrical problem

Unfortunately, my place faces southeast, so the other side is northwest. I have to pick the right time of day to get the softer light.
