This evening we received our first mail in nearly two weeks. (A gigantic snowstorm and ensuing state of emergency brought on the delay followed by, I think, a couple of days of the post office getting resorted.)

And in this evening's mail were two postcards! Both were from Phil McFarland, and both are lovely.

Phil's December card (postmarked 14 Dec. and thus held up by Christmas as well as the local emergency) is of Wilder House, an imposing late autumn scene in colour.

And Phil's January one (postmarked 10 Jan) is a beautiful snow-covered tree.

Both are elegantly printed on what appears to be heavy, long-fibred art paper. Phil, can you tell me how you printed them?

I still have not received all that I have expected, so there are probably more treats in future mail.

Whew! I was afraid the card stock was too thin to survive international mailing. I used Avery inkjet postcard stock, serrated 4-up, then created the lines on the reverse in Word, and added the photo on the front. Glad you liked them.

Good grief, these are taking a long time to get through. Alex, I begin to suspect that I'd have been better off sending one to meet you in Spain!

I noted and appreciated Phil's choice of paper as well. I had bought some myself and was wondering the same thing...
