Canon Rangefinder Accessories

Post by PFMcFarland »

I've been slowly kitting out the Canon P as I find things. Here are the latest.

Canon Hood, Adapter, and Walz Filter by br1078phot, on Flickr
Canon hood for 1.8/50, 2.8/35, and 3.2/35 on 40mm to Series VI adapter, with Walz 40mm UV filter. I would not recommend stacking the adapter on top of a filter, as it may cause vignetting (this is just the way they came). Note the C on the Walz filter, the only thing denoting its thread size.

Canon 3.5/100 with Case by br1078phot, on Flickr
Leica screw mount for Canon rangefinder cameras.

Canon P with 3.5/100 by br1078phot, on Flickr
Takes 34mm filters.

Canon P with Model V flash unit by br1078phot, on Flickr
Takes size 6 bulbs, but can be adapted for sizes 3 and 25. Uses FP, M, and F type bulbs. The adapter that came with mine is for another flash unit, and won't work with this one.

Canon Auto-Up Sets by br1078phot, on Flickr
Close-up adapters made for the 1.8/50. The original (on the camera) has a range of 40"-22". Number II (in the case) has a range of 20"-15". The original also came in it's leather case.

I'm going to need a bigger bag.

I like doing this with certain cameras. It's a fun challenge to look for little pieces here and there: filters, lens hoods, cloesup lenses, viewfinders, etc.

I completely forgot that the 100 came with the Canon hood and 34mm-Series VI adapter, Mike. It was stashed in the upper part of the leather case. There is also room for the aux finder, but I won't need that with the P.

I also found that the C on the Walz filter may have nothing to do with "Canon", as I just received a set of Walz filters and hood marked with the C, and they are 29.5mm (or Kodak size 32). But that's okay, because if I sell my Retina IIIC, I can also let the Kodak filters go, and still have a set for the Retinette IIa.
