Something old...

When medium format isn't big enough: 4x5, 5x7, 9x12, 8x10 and even larger.

...the drill, that is.

4x5 Arista. Metered at 60 seconds, with the ridiculous reciprocity failure on Arista film, was a sixteen minute corrected exposure. SMH...

I'm only 67 years old, but I feel old. In my twenties, I spent two years working off and on with my father who was an electrician. We had two drills, the smaller one much like this one, and the bigger one a brace-and-bit which you leaned into with your shoulder. We wired many houses with those two drills.

Nice picture!

Philip, my dad will be 80 this year, and that doesn't seem old to me anymore. FWIW, the drill is older than that (Goodell and Pratt no. 655). Dates to around 1926.

Yeah he is, one year more than me!

I love old tool photos. A wonderful rendition there, Scott.

:) And I hope we'll both continue that way for many years, Phil!

May we all stay well, and grow very old.

Same to you, and everyone else. Keeping ahead of the curve has a whole new meaning these days.
