One is never enough.

From left to right Plaubel ...

Makina II, Makina IIS, Makina III and Makina IIIR.

The IIIR is from a client and it's working already, tomorrow I will handle back and I will swap that silvered viewfinder for Orthar for a black viewfinder for Orthar and my II Black :D

My latest. I should have it in a few days. And then it's off for service.

It's been a while. And it's Friday. So...

Image

Argus C3. The ubiquitous "Brick". My first one, somehow.

So a neighbor (one of my wife's good friends) recently moved. In the cleaning and packing, they found this camera, which belonged to her husband's grandfather. She'd seen my insta recently, to which I've been posting some recent pictures. So they thought of me when they found the camera, and gifted it to me. No expectation of it being used, but hopeful about it. So, I have a new project.

Low speeds stutter a bit, faster speeds seem okay. Rangefinder appears to work. Lens (Cintar?) is dirty. Shutter speed dial is hard to turn. But for sentimentality, I want to rehab this camera. Have found some info online about the process; stay tuned.

[EDIT]
Oooh - according to the argus collector's group website it's a C2, not a C3. 1938-1942.
