Milky Way Southern Arizona 6/28/2014

Post by Dennis Gallus »

It was very clear last night, so I got out the tripod and camera gear.

Image

Nikon D700
24mm/2.0 Nikon AI lens at 2.8
20 sec
ISO 3200
RAW

I had another version using ISO 6400 that I posted on Facebook, but the noise is quite noticeable.

The spot of light against the backdrop of the mountains, about 1/3 the way in from the left edge of the frame, is some lonely Border Patrol officer driving along the border fence just over 1 mile away.

Have a nice day,
Dennis

Wow! Living in a big city, I never see a sky like this, even if I go north. Stunning!

Photography is a form of time travel.
