Leitz Wetzlar Hektor 4.5/135

Post by PFMcFarland »

I've been putting a Leica IIIf kit together ever since my 66th birthday, and finally completed the lens group with the Hektor 4.5/135. It came with a 50mm M-Mount adapter and rear cap, the original front cap, and was supposed to come with the E39-Summitar filter mount converter but the seller took it off while packing things up because the cap would not fit over it and forgot to include it in the box. It's on the way now all by itself.

I had to clean out the haze between the rear and middle elements which didn't take much time. I counted six bubbles in the elements. Put it back together and mounted on the camera for a portrait.

I might not use it much, but it will come in handy some day.

If you can't fix it with a hammer... you got an electrical problem
even duct tape can't fix stupid.... but it can muffle it (SilentObserver)

That's a good looking lens. I like it a lot. Even in that photo, you can really see the high quality of the construction.

The IIIf is a sweet Barnack to build a kit around. Please remind us about the other lenses and gear? a bit of candy for collectors eye...
