A Challenge

Often simply written as "W/NW" - your favorite photos. Explain them, or let your photos (film or digital) speak for themselves.

Thanks, and I think everyone else's shots are great, too.

I know things get a bit slow on forums, especially in the summer, but I still want a place to go to for advice, criticism and just plain fun when I need it, even if that is not as often as I'd like.

Good shots, Phil,

You've been active! I like the Paint Bank a lot because it is so evocative: small town, railroad, ornate building. But my favorite is the picture of the Packard. I was born a short distance from the Packard Factory in Detroit, and I have always admired Packard products, from autos to Merlin engines.

Best regards,
Dennis

Thanks, Dennis. Our family had a Packard like that one when I was younger, only in a different color, and with a less gaudy hood ornament. I donated the cormorant for this one, and rebuilt the guts of the Amoco sign so it would light up again.

Summer lacrosse is almost over. The boy's been active this year, and I've been shooting a lot of it with hte 70D and 70-200/2.8. Here's one I was happy with.

Scott, When you get tired of that 70-200, I'll give it a loving home.

Nice shot, Scott,

Thanks for answering The Challenge. Today was an exceptionally good day on this Photography Today (PT) site, when I logged on at 0515 this morning, there were 10 new posts awaiting my interest. I don't think that has ever happened before! Maybe people are catching the PT habit!

I guess that I'm still getting used to the format of the forum-- must have read the last post as July 10 and then misread the original post as July when it was actually June. Anyway, late though it is, I'll try to post two photos. I liked them because I don't usually have much luck photographing through an airplane window and these turned out better than usual. The date was February 1st as we were getting close to Portland, OR on a forenoon flight. The camera was an Olympus XA loaded with Fujicolor 200 (I converted them to b&w in PSE). I said that I'd try to post photos...I'm having a lot of trouble with Photo Bucket which I've used up to now. It wants to update my browser... I won't let it do that...so I'm not getting anywhere. So I'm trying to use the "upload direct" to this forum and the photos have been cut off on the right side. I'll see what I can do this time. These photos are sized for the web; is that reasonable to use for this forum?

Bill, those look good to me, if somewhat small. You could easily increase the size to 800 pixels in width. Nice images.
