I envy your mellow surroundings. What is a "tick stick?' Google doesn't help. Maybe a way to measure water level? Wait, I found the answer on your Flickr -- water level. First thought maybe it was a tick trap ;)

Nice subject, well done. The Canon P&S were quite respectable for the cost.
