If I remember correctly, the Retinas were manufactured in Germany, not in the USA. I don't recall the name of the factory, only that it was not owned by Kodak.

Graham, that is correct. The Retinas were made in Stuttgart-Wangen, Germany.

I'm pretty sure Kodak did buy the Nagle factory. Kodak also started a factory in France to make the Retina line due to import laws at the time.

Indeed Phil,
f.ex. the Nagel Recomar cameras (amongst others) were rebranded Kodak Recomar after Kodak purchased the Dr.August Nagel factory.
