Portreath, Cornwall - again!

Post by GrahamS »

We have just returned home from a trip to Portreath, Cornwall, our second visit to our daughter. We drove there and back in the Jaguar XJ8 which gave us space, pace and grace. I don't think I have ever enjoyed a road trip as much as I did this one. BMW and Mercedes drivers, eat your hearts out - you will need to trade up to a Bentley or a Rolls to come anywhere close. 726 miles, 34.2 mpg. Better than our Honda Civic!

I used the Fuji XE2-s and the Nikon D7100. Here are some of the shots from this trip:

My best beloved looking at the low-tide harbour.

Mousehole cafe bar. A nice place to enjoy a cream tea.

St. Ives harbour. A very busy commercial fishing port.

These are mighty fine pics, Graham. Nicely sharp and great colo(u)rs indeed. And clearly a nice place to visit too!
I love Cornwall although I've never been there in person.

Beautiful place and excellent images! I like the first one, with the parking lot for yachts. That is some low tide!

Apologies, but when we arrived I parked the Jag up and didn't use it again until we left for home. I just wasn't thinking......

But here's one I baked earlier:

That is a sign of a wonderful vacation!!!
I saw that pic earlier, that car handles like a champ, and that gas mileage mmmhhhmmmmm!
IIRC, years ago there was a TopGear episode in which they tried to drive form Switzerland to the UK on 1 tank of gas and the Jaguar got the farthest even when Clarkson was pushing it to stop first
