Super Ikonta III goes tropical

If it has bellows, you can talk about it here.

Super Ikonta III goes tropical

Post by P C Headland »

Sun, sea, sand and warmth. All the things to look forward when heading off to the tropics from the middle of winter in NZ. A (relatively) quick trip of 3 hours in the air, back to the day before, and we arrive in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. It's yesterday since the Cook Islands are just on the other side of the date line to NZ. This causes much fun and games when booking flights and accommodation, particularly as flights often get in just after midnight.

Of course, arriving after midnight and it's relatively cool, but it'll be nice, warm and sunny the next day. Except is wasn't. It was wet, cool and windy. Tomorrow will be good. Not tomorrow, no. Cool and windy. Maybe the next day? Nope, no real sun until the day we had back! Ah well, at least it's a break. The weather did co-operate long enough for a couple of walks with the Super Ikonta III (Novar equipped). I decided not to bring a digital camera apart from the iPhone, choosing to pack the folder and a couple of rolls of Kodak Gold 200. I've not shot KG200 before, but the price was right, even with shipping from Oz. Due to the weather, I only shot the one roll.

For those curious, I didn't request a hand check, the film went through the scanners a total of three times in NZ and once in Rarotonga.

A good set of photos there, Paul. The Ikonta is still working fine too.

For a momemt after reading the title I thought you had out brown bellows and brown leather to the Super Ikonta making it 'tropical' :)

Nice photos! Novar never disappoints.

I like them all, but if pressed, I would choose Nos 2 & 4. Thanks for sharing.
