Thanks, Dennis. My biggest problem with using Sunny-16 is I can hardly remember what settings I used before, and so it's always a guessing game as to what aperture works best in a shady situation. Luckily a cloud blocked the sun for a short while, so that took most of the guesswork out of the equation.
