How to turn your Coolpix into a LOMO

These digital cameras don't have interchangeable lenses. Among this category are the so-called bridge cameras, including those with SLR-style viewing.

How to turn your Coolpix into a LOMO

Post by PFMcFarland »

I got a Tokina Video Tele Converter 2.0X some time ago in a box of miscellaneous camera gear, and didn’t know what to do with it until I saw what LarryD did with his Plastic Fantastic 120. It works pretty good.

Sure beats my 'door knocker' lens Phil, and your screws on to boot.

Oh no, it doesn't screw on, Ron. It just slips over the camera lens hood, and quite loosely. I have to hold on to it the full time it's being used. I could find something to adapt the hood for a tighter fit, once I figure what the clearances are.

I started using these on "Toy cameras. Electrical tape and that adhesive felt works great to keep things in place.
I have done this now to a few cameras. I also got adapters to screw them into some of my better lenses on my SLRs.
