The Weisman Art Museum on the University of Minnesota Minneapolis campus is striking to look at. I've found it very hard to photograph. My last try was with APX 100 in an Olympus XA2. I thought I'd try a different treatment in PS Elements because the results weren't much better than earlier attempts. I inverted the negative and toned it with a "photo filter" option, not something that I do a lot. To me it seems to bring out the striking features of the building pretty well, they look flatter in the positive scan. Here's what it looks like in the inverted version.

Inverted Scan using PS Elements
Re: Inverted Scan using PS Elements
Bill,
I like this. It reduces it to some base elements and the lines.
I agree that this isn't something that you probably would do often, but I really like the effect in this photo!

A save is a Save. I love it.
If we all saw the world the same no one would need a camera.

Mike, Larry, Julio, and Phil: Thanks for the comments. I'm glad that the photo worked out o.k.-- I've used up a lot of film trying to make a photo of that building that isn't drab. Bill D.
