Lens Cleaning

Post by TobaccorRoad »

Put some film in my old Exakta today. The lens that I have are sort of dusty. The Trioplan 100mm has the glass really set deep in the body. Any suggestions how to reach down into them, I tried blowing air and got some of it gone but still have some matter that air wouldn't move.

Thanks,

Ron B

In my experience you can do this with a very soft brush ("camel hair") very gentle action, while at the same time you keep a vacuum cleaner take-up tube close to the lens and brush. YMMV, though. If the dust is sticking to the lens, same thing but a Q-tip with rubbing alcohol instead of the soft brush. Good luck!

Thanks Julio, I tried blowing air into the lens and it got some of it out, just dust I hope? Never thought of using a vacuum cleaner.
I will have to find a brush thin enough to get down there in it.
Thanks
