This is my dad in 1980. I was home on leave from the Air Force. It was October, I believe, because the weather was cool but not cold. My dad was clowning around a bit.
Taken with a Nikon FE and 50mm lens on K64 (Kodachrome 64).
He worked hard - really hard - and was forced by bad knees to stop working when he was about 58 or 59. He had about 20+ good years before he went downhill and passed away in 2003 after a stroke. He never woke from it, and I'm glad that he didn't. He wouldn't have wanted to live life as a semi-invalid. I'm OK with it, and this is how I remember him.
