Eric Hendrikson is AFAIK one of the best Pentax repairmen in the US.
He services a lot of cameras, and this interview was published just a couple of days ago

If you can't fix it with a hammer... you got an electrical problem
even duct tape can't fix stupid.... but it can muffle it (SilentObserver)

I agree. He has done wonders for some of my cameras.
