When you buy a used camera and lens from a charity auction site, you can only hope for the best. I got lucky with this combo. Loaded with Kodak Ultramax 400, I went in search of the usual subjects to test it out.

You got a winning combination for sure, Phil; I don't see how you could improve on it, actually. The crib/shed is great, particularly with the faint tree outlines in the background. I bet you'll use this outfit a lot.

Yes, great combo you have there. I like the N80 (F80 over here) because of the possibility to call up that illuminated grid
in the viewfinder. I wish my F100 could do that trick.

Thanks, guys. I don't think I've ever gotten such good results with Ultramax 400 before, sharpness wise. Everywhere I look, folks say the 28-105 is a sweetheart of a lens.
BTW, Benny, you can get an E screen for the grid in an F100. Mine came that way. I've still got to go through the manual to see what the custom functions are, and how to select them. Still waiting for it to uncurl under some books.

Phil, a few years ago I bought a minty E screen for my F3HP and had a bad experience with those. Although the screen looks like new, I discovered that the horizontal lines are not quite horizontal ! So, I tend to avoid E screens now .

The N80 is a good camera.
If we all saw the world the same no one would need a camera.

"In the Shadow" is spectacular, but for some reason my favorite is "Forewarned". Very very nice!
I have that same lens - usually mounted on an F90 (non-S). Perhaps mine's busted; my pics never turn out that good ;->
Cheers!
