Going for a walk in New Mexico can be a little different than in other places.
The white in White Mesa is gypsum. My wife, the geologist, says it's an ancient anticline that eroded in the middle. Gypsum slopes are on both sides with the canyon floor a couple of hundred feet down. This area is part of the Ojito Wilderness about 40 miles west of Albuquerque.

Afternoon stroll - New Mexico style
Re: Afternoon stroll - New Mexico style
These are fine photos of beautiful, rugged country. The placement of the figures in the first photo says a lot; I didn't notice them right away.

Awesome landscapes. It is nice to see some sunny weather as well! (even if only in nice pictures) - we have been now several weeks under gray skies.

I've really got to get out west sometime. I just admire all the scenery with no power lines in the way for miles and miles.

Graham: I like the full frame of the D610. I bought it because I love wide angle lenses, and I really wanted to use the 20mm f1.8 Sigma.
Julio1fer: It's always sunny out here; 320 sunny days per year.
PF: Come out any time.
Thanks to all who looked.
