Phil, I'll add one for you.
And then a sad one if nelsonfoto does indeed go away.

Ahh, it is sad: it seems to have gone now for sure.
This is what it is showing now (Monday 25/7 at mid-day):

The domain is still registered through July 25, 2017. The suspension of the site is for ninety days, after which it will disappear after October 22, 2016. if at any time during the ninety days I or anyone else can establish administrative control over the site, it will be reinstated.
So, if anyone can get in contact with Craig's daughter, please do, and give her my contact info. We don't have a lot of time to take care of this, especially if it would involve an Executor of Estate.
All is not lost yet.

Re: NelsonFoto dot Com
Bummer. I had a great time learning about photography on Nelsonfoto. It was definitely a great community! As much as I enjoyed the site and the community it fostered, photography has changed a lot since most of the members have migrated elsewhere. Personally, as we move on into the future I'd be fine with our new "home" here holding the torch formerly held by Nelsonfoto. It would be a shame for Nelsonfoto to be a conduit for scammers if it remained online, especially considering the extreme lack of activity there for the past several years.
If there were a way to archive the contents of Nelsonfoto, that would be awesome. It was full of lots of great info, repair tips, camera reviews, etc. If that can't happen, we'll just have to start posting up more here to make up for the loss

That is indeed a great loss. We had lots of info, pictures, links, etc. on there. Hopefully with time we can create something similar here. Already Mike is doing a great job creating some interesting content (camera presentations etc.) - thanks for that, Mike.
It would be great if we could scoop up some of the former NFF members which have not found their way to this place.

A good hacker could probably do it, no?melek wrote:It's a shame that we can get our hands on that database.
