Photobucket image details?

If you need to unleash a rant or just have something that you want to say, you can post it here. It doesn't have to be about photography.

Photobucket image details?

Post by scott »

Hi, all -

I may've asked this before, but I have general poo-brain these days, so I hope you'll indulge me: Is there a way in Photobucket for identifying image details, specifically upload date? Back in the nelsonfoto days I used Photobucket for everything. The images are all still there, and I need to harvest them into my flickr account, but I kind of want to know the vintage of them. I can't find any indication that that information is available - anyone know one way or t'other?

Thanks,
Scott

Okay, downloaded all the images in my two PB accounts. When you download the ZIP files, the original upload dates are included. There's supposed to be EXIF/info displayed in the panel when you view a picture; I don't get any of it. But the creation dates are in the files, so I'm good.

That's why I never put original files on Flickr, only a copy. If something should happen to the service, I've still got everything here. Of course, I'd lose all the input in the descriptions, tags, and titles. Maybe I should start making a record of all that.

Oh, I don't store originals on flickr or PB. But the source files from the old days are scattered on multiple loose hard drives. And they're all excessively poor quality, but I want what I have centrally-located. I have all the old film to go back to if I want to generate another scan at some point. But instead of housing them over several accounts on two sites, I want them all together. Can do now.

Sounds like a good plan.
