Great Blue Heron

Here is a Great Blue Heron, taken along the Charles River in Waltham, Massachusetts. Post a photo of a heron, egret, or similar water bird if you have one. This guy is no doubt lamenting the fact that our drought makes for mighty poor fishing (where he is standing is normally under water).

These were taken at Verulamium park below St Alban's Cathedral on September 28th 2011, with my Canon Eos 7D and 28-105mm f4L lens. They were grab shots and I don't think they are pin sharp, but never mind - they are all I have.....

Indeed. Thank you, James. I was actually shooting portraits at the time and wasn't prepared. Incorrect lens and camera setup.
