Associated Press in Nazi Germany

If you need to unleash a rant or just have something that you want to say, you can post it here. It doesn't have to be about photography.

Associated Press in Nazi Germany

Post by Julio1fer »

AP has posted a report on their activities in Nazi Germany. It should be interesting material for PJ and people interested in the history of the period.

Not to mention trying to identify cameras that appear in a few images.

Thank you, Julio, for posting this link. I had heard only vaguely about the topic; it will be good to read AP's summary of their policies. I was 7 years old in 1945 when the war ended. My parents, like most other people, relied on radio and a daily paper for news which they were hungry for. AP and other news services were meeting a big need.

Another tome one can read is "Berlin Diary" by William L. Shirer, who worked a while for CBS. It covers the time period of 1934 to 1941, and details the restrictions they had to go through to get the news out.
