Nomads in Roanoke

Post by PFMcFarland »

On July 9, 2017, the Chevy BelAir Nomads from 1955, ’56, and ’57 began rolling into Roanoke, VA to gather at the Sheraton Hotel for their annual convention. A week of socializing, comparing customs to stock rebuilds, and day trips was ahead of them.

I took these photos with a Nikon S2 and W-Nikkor•C 3.5cm 1:3.5 on Kodak T-Max 100, and a Bessa R2S with SC-Skopar 25mm 1:4 on Kodak Ektar 100.

Nice set Phil!

As for favorites - I've got to go with the few that have the highest aspect ratio on the tires. The low-profile-tire-on-a-classic car, works, in my opinion, for very very few classic cars. So maybe this one.

And the C4 'vette engine ! Any idea what the the other fuel-injected motor is from?

Cheers!

Thanks, Graham, and Bill.

At the time I was taking photos, Bill, hardly any of the owners were around their vehicles, preferring the cool environs of the hotel bar. So I didn't get a lot of info about what motors were installed. Thanks for the ID of the C4.
